SESSION 2 – BIOGAS AND BIOMETHANE: EXCELLENCES OF THE APULIAN REGION With 1.3 million hectares under cultivation, Apulia is one of the Italian regions with the largest Utilized Agricultural Area (UAA), accounting for 65.8% of the total regional area and 10.2% of the national UAA. The primary sector significantly contributes to the regional economy. In recent years, Apulia has seen a growing number of investments in the biogas and biomethane sector, also thanks to the large availability of agricultural and agro-industrial matrices.
